Inside the Church

The Halsey Chapel

The Halsey Family have lived in Great Gaddesden for 600 years, and their chapel, in the north eastern corner of the church, contains an exceptional collection of 18th century monuments. The family continues to have a strong connection with the church.

The church contains many monuments of interest, ranging from people of eminence down to a rare example of a plaque to a domestic servant - Stephen Munne, a cook who died in 1656)

East Window

The brasses on the floor of the church go back over 500 years. Rubbings can be made by arrangement with the churchwardens.
